Tavernier delivers Twitter verdict on Rangers milestones after win v Hearts

Rangers ace James Tavernier took to Twitter and regaled supporters with two important milestones that were achieved in the Light Blues’ 2-0 victory over Hearts on Saturday.
He disclosed that he had now played in a century of games for the Ibrox club, and that the match against Hearts was the first in which he captained the Gers at home.
“Another milestone achieved today. Played my 100th league game and captained my first home game at Ibrox. Great team performance, three points and a clean sheet finished off a great day!!” the Englishman revealed on his personal Twitter account.

The 26-year-old has been a huge success since joining the Light Blues from Wigan in 2015, and he recently signed a contract extension which should keep him at Ibrox until 2021.
As for the match itself, the Gers deservedly defeated Craig Levein’s side in a game which they dominated. Jamie Murphy and Russell Martin were the goalscorers but the result would have been far more emphatic if it hadn’t been for some poor finishing by Alfredo Morelos and Josh Windass in particular.
The victory for the Gers moved them to within six points of league leaders Celtic, although the Hoops can increase the lead back to nine points with a victory over Aberdeen on Sunday.
Graeme Murty’s side have done very well to get themselves into title contention, and they will be aiming to keep the pressure on when they face St Johnstone on Tuesday night.
