Rangers player ratings v Celtic: Out of depth defender is 4/10 in derby horror show

By James Black

Rangers lost 2-0 to Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side in Saturday afternoon’s Old Firm clash after second-half goals from Tom Rogic and Leigh Griffiths.

The sides were evenly matched over the first period before Rogic’s goal early in the second period put the Hoops in front.

Griffiths doubled their advantage with a well-placed finish as the Scottish champions extended their lead over their rival to eight points.

Pedro Caixinha’s selection plans were thrown into disarray with Lee Wallace, Declan John and Bruno Alves all being ruled out through injury – meaning a first start for Under-20’s captain Ross McCrorie at centre-back.

Caixinha has now lost all three of his Old Firm clashes since taking charge at Ibrox in March and faces a serious fight if Rangers are to challenge Celtic for the title this season.
