27-year-old flop big reason why Caixinha was axed: Rangers summer signings rated

COMMENT By James Black

Rangers fans have had a season that – even taking their own recent history into account – few would have predicted in June.

A humiliating European exit, poor home form, senior players being banished from the squad and banned from attending games, a manager sacked by Halloween yet still only six points off Brendan Rodgers’ seemingly untouchable Celtic side.

The Gers have shown they are more than capable of playing some really nice, incisive football but far too often remind everyone that they are just as capable of the utterly ridiculous – like Kilmarnock’s recent equaliser at Ibrox.

Now-deposed manager Pedro Caixinha brought 11 new faces into the club over the summer with varying levels of success so far.

Some of Caixinha’s new signings have hit the ground running and look like being more than capable of helping the Light Blues close the gap on Celtic while others look like they are completely out of their depth playing for a club with expectations of trophy wins.
