Hamilton midfielder Greg Docherty has said that any claims of him moving to Rangers are all speculation at the moment with the Ibrox side said to have named him as their top target.
The 21-year-old has established himself as one of the brightest young talents in Scotland, and STV have claimed that Rangers boss Graeme Murty has identified the hot prospect as one of his primary transfer targets for the January transfer window.
However, despite giving a positive verdict on a potential move to Ibrox, insisting that he is flattered by the reported interest, he states that there is nothing in the pipeline at present and that he is totally focused on his performances for his current club.
He told the Daily Record: “My friends keep me up to date with the stories but there has been nothing at all so far.
“If they’re talking about it in a positive manner then that’s good, that’s what you want.
“There’s been absolutely nothing, it’s all speculation. There has been nothing from Hamilton and, until that day comes, I’m happy to do my job here.”
The central midfielder, who is a graduate of the Accies youth system, has made 109 appearances for the club despite being just 21, scoring eight goals and chipping in with 13 assists, as well as picking up three appearances for Scotland’s under-21 side.
This season has seen him remain as an ever present during the club’s league campaign, appearing in every one of their 22 Premiership games on the way to sitting ninth in the table, while he has missed just one of the five cup games played.
