Rangers set to do battle with Scotland wonderkid in mid-season friendly
By Will Butcher
Rangers are set to face Scotland star Oliver Burke after organising a friendly against Bundesliga side RedBull Leipzig.
The two sides are set to do battle on January 15 as the Bundesliga pauses during the Christmas period, with the Gers set to travel to Germany to face the ambitious Leipzig as they too will have a “winter shutdown” during January.
Rangers posted the news on their official website, confirming they will take on Burke’s new side, following his summer move from Nottingham Forest.

Exciting young attacker Burke moved to the newly-promoted German outfit for a fee of around £13million from Championship giants Forest, after rejecting a move to Premier League side Tottenham.
Burke, who has already earned four senior Scotland caps, decided to chance his arm in the Bundesliga after scoring six goals in just 10 league starts for Philippe Montanier’s side.

Four of those strikes came in his first seven league and cup games this season for Forest, persuading Leipzig to make their move as they continue to scout the world for its best young talent.
Making seven appearances this season for his new side, Burke has already found his name on the scoresheet as well as supplying another two goals in assists.
His new side have defied the odds this term and second place in the Bundesliga above the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen, as they continue their unbeaten run after nine games.
In other Rangers news, this striker has been named in the SPFL Team of the Week after starring in the Gers 3-0 win over Kilmarnock.
