Rangers set for major 'financial' boost after 'great' Kamara reveal - pundit
Rangers have pulled off a “great signing” by tying Glen Kamara down to a new contract, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Aberdeen striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Light Blues are now set for a “financial” boost in the future.
Rangers announced on Wednesday (22nd September) Kamara has penned a new deal set to run until 2025.
The new contract comes after months of speculation over his future.
As revealed by Football Insider, there is an agreement between player and club he will leave for a certain price.
Whelan suggested Kamara would be happy to have tied himself down at Ibrox.

“I think if he was ever going to leave Rangers, it would have been this summer,” Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“The seasons he’s had there. The way he’s gone about his business in that midfield area. How important he became to Steven Gerrard’s team.
“We knew how important it was to Steven Gerrard. He was desperately wanting to keep him there and he’s managed to do that.
“As a player, even though you’ve won the league, had a good run in Europe, he’s obviously seen good things happening at Rangers.
“He’s very happy there, working with Steven Gerrard, Gary McAllister and the rest of the backroom staff. He likes the environment that he’s in.
“He probably would have had opportunities to come to Premier League clubs here in England.
“It’s a great signing, it’s a long signing. What it means is Rangers are secured financially.
“If anyone is going to come and sign him and he is under contract, it’s going to be a good amount of money to prise him away.”
