‘Rangers set to bank major profit after Hamza Igamane transfer news’
Rangers are in line for a huge profit if they sell star striker Hamza Igamane this summer in the face of serious interest from Premier League sides.
Rangers‘ endured a campaign without silverware last term, but Moroccan international Igamane was a shining light in a tough season for all at Ibrox.
The 22-year-old joined the Gers on a five-year deal from AS FAR, a team in his home country, last summer, with the transfer fee reported to be a lesser figure of around £1.7million [Daily Record].
He was a relatively unknown commodity in Scottish football prior to his move, but soon introduced himself to supporters with consistently impressive performances that saw him notch 16 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions after recovering from injury.
Football Insider revealed in April that Rangers could be forced to sell Igamane if a big money offer comes in this summer, and a new update from Foot Mercato has now cast more doubt over his future with the Glasgow giants.

Rangers in line to make a huge profit amid Premier League interest in Igamane
Foot Mercato have reported that Premier League sides West Ham, Everton and Brentford are all interested in a move for Igamane this summer, with each team wanting to add to their attacking depth.
The Hammers have have set their sights on Saint-Etienne forward Lucas Stassin, but are still keeping tabs on Igamane, while David Moyes’ Everton need a new striker as Dominic Calvert-Lewin edges closer to an exit, and Brentford are in a similar position with the futures of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa uncertain.
Rangers will not want to lose Igamane anytime soon, but they could be forced to sell the 22-year-old with all of those sides likely to offer a sizeable fee for his services which would represent a massive profit on the humble £1.7m they paid to sign him last July.
Numerous Ligue 1 sides are also attentive to Igamane’s situation this summer, alongside their Premier League counterparts, with RC Lens, Lille, Strasbourg and Rennes all interested in securing his signature, according to the same report.
Igamane sale could help Rangers back Russell Martin this summer
Football Insider verdict
Former Southampton boss Russell Martin is now at the helm for Rangers, and the club will want to give him to best chance of success next season, so potentially securing a major profit on Igamane could partly fund their transfer window as he looks to bolster other positions in his squad.
Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises officially took charge of the club last month, and Martin is planning a squad overhaul with Cyriel Dessers also set to depart Ibrox according to Football Insider columnist and former chief Keith Wyness.
Football Insider revealed on 2 June that Rangers’ new owners are expected to make big transfer funds available to Martin, with Danish international playmaker Christian Eriksen believed to be a target as he prepares to leave Manchester United.

They are likely to want to sanction at least one big sale to further fund their business, and Igamane could be chosen as the man to let go of in the face of interest from Premier League and Ligue 1 sides.
With so many teams in the race to sign the young goal-scorer the prospect of a bidding war is strong, with the fee potentially pushed up even higher.
The Moroccan international is bound to fetch a healthy profit if he is sold, and it would certainly represent great business for the Gers if he was sold on for a sizeable fee just a year after joining the club.
