Rangers to submit bid for top-flight attacker - report
By Abigail Withey
Rangers are set to submit a fresh bid for Hearts midfielder Jamie Walker after their first two offers were turned down by the fellow Premiership club, according to a recent report.
The Daily Record revealed on their live transfer blog on Monday [10.19am] that the Light Blues hadn’t given up on their pursuit of the 24-year-old.
The transfer blog claims that the Ibrox outfit’s first two bids were rejected as they didn’t reach Hearts’ £1million valuation.
It is understood that because of the weakness in Pedro Caixinha’s left-midfield, the club’s director of football Mark Allen is ready to swoop in again on the former Scotland Under-21 international.
Walker is a product of the Hearts academy, and broke into the senior squad permanently back in 2012 and has since made 167 appearances across all competitions where he scored 39 goals and provided 34 assists.

The young Scotsman has been linked with the club over the past few weeks and was left out of the squad for the opening games of the season until he made his return against Rangers during their 0-0 draw.
Football Insider verdict
Rangers have had a bit of a mixed bag of results during the opening of their Premiership campaign after securing a couple of wins, a loss and a goalless draw. Despite his results not being too bad, Caixinha has been scrutinised by many after there were high hopes surrounding his squad after their eight signings were made. Securing Walker in the closing days of the transfer window, as well as an international break could be the boost that Caixinha and the team need as they hope to replicate their win over Ross County for the rest of the season. The young midfielder has shown that he is a proven and valued asset at Hearts and would be an excellent addition to the Gers squad.
In other Rangers news, Sutton also named three Gers players in his team of the week after his spat with Pedro Caixinha.
