Rangers star Glen Kamara backed to ‘shine’ at Leeds United – pundit

Leeds United would be the perfect club for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie said the Gers may not want to let Kamara leave this summer but backed him to shine at Leeds.

The 27-year-old’s current contract at Ibrox runs until 2025 after joining from Dundee in 2019 for around £500,000.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post (17 July), the Whites are keeping tabs on Kamara in the event that he leaves the Glasgow club this summer.

The Finland international has been tipped for an exit this summer as Michael Beale continues to rebuild his squad.

The Gers have already brought in Todd Cantwell, Nicolas Raskin and Kieran Dowell in midfield and are closing in on LAFC’s Jose Cifuentes.

McAvennie suggested Leeds would be a good fit for Kamara if he departs Ibrox this summer.

I think he is a decent player, not so long ago he was getting touted for millions and millions,” he told Football Insider.

Would he go and play well at Leeds? Of course he would, he is a decent player. I do not know why they would want to let him go.

Beale just wants to get players out to bring players in and Kamara is part of the old regime so they will want to move him on.

Rangers

I think he would do well at Leeds. It is a big club, I know they are in the Championship but they will be wanting to bring the club back up.

I think it would be a good move for him and I think he would shine down there.
