Rangers star midfielder Jason Holt has revealled that Tottenham Hotspur are his favourite team to watch at the moment, as Mauricio Pochettino has rejuvinated the Spurs ranks.
Speaking directly to Rangers TV, as quoted by Inside Futbol, the former Scotland under-21 international stated that he likes what Spurs are doing at the moment, despite only being fifth in the Premier League,
“They have been in a good period for the last few years now, they are pretty close to finally getting there.”
Spurs came incredibly close to winning the Premier League two season ago, stumbling at the final hurdle to allow Leicester to take the coveted trophy.
Harry Kane has been the central point of Spurs resurgence, and Holt believes that what the England international brings to the London based team is amazing, and jokingly admits that he has Kane in his fantasy team lineup so wants him to succeed,
“My favourite player doesn’t play in my position, Harry Kane, I think what he is doing is just incredible.
“And also because he is in my fantasy football team, so I want him to do well.”
Kane scored yesterday versus Liverpool from the penalty spot, after missing his initial penalty, bringing his Premier League total to 100, only Alan Shearer reached that milestone at a quicker rate that Kane.
Holt has not quite been as prolific as Kane in front of goal, having only managed the 14 Rangers goals in his 106 club appearances.
Kane’s next chance to earn Holt some prestigious fantasy points comes next weekend, as Spurs face off against Arsenal in the Premier League.
