Rangers stars react to ‘brilliant’ message from Nico Raskin

Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin took to social media after his team thrashed rivals Celtic 3-0 in the Scottish Premiership to hail their attitude.

Goals scored by Ianis Hagi, Robin Propper, and Danilo secured a vital Old Firm derby triumph for Philippe Clement’s team at Ibrox.

The Gers now sit 11 points behind their bitter rivals at the top of the Scottish Premiership as this marks Clement’s first victory against them since his arrival.

Raskin was given the armband as James Tavernier picked up a knock, and the Belgian showed his appreciation of the team on his social media.

He took to Instagram to share his joy, captioning a post: “Brilliant shift today! More than proud of this team and all your support. We are Glasgow Rangers”.

His teammates joined in celebration with Jefte commenting “Nico, I love you brother” and goal scorer Danilo reposting the post on his story and saying “My G on” followed up with a fire emoji.

Rangers hope this win can salvage season

Before the match, Raskin’s countryman and coach Clement, was under pressure due to the team’s lacklustre performances in recent weeks.

Trailing the Bhoys by 14 points before kick-off, a loss or a draw would have all but ended any hopes of rekindling their title aspirations.

However, the performance demonstrated that the dressing room is far from fractured, with almost every player contributing to the famous derby win.

After the controversial loss in the Scottish League Cup final—where many Rangers fans called for a replay—this victory offers a measure of redemption and eases some of the frustration.

That said, fans have once again been in uproar over a decision involving Raskin himself, as Callum McGregor escaped a red card during a scuffle between the two players.

While this incident doesn’t overshadow the victory, it would have undoubtedly put the Scottish FA under greater scrutiny had the result not gone Rangers’ way.

Still, this win is a positive turning point for the Glasgow club. Clement will hope to build momentum in the league and carry this renewed energy into the Europa League campaign.
