Rangers star Thelo Aasgaard reacts as further Luton Town exit confirmed
Luton Town have endured a busy summer transfer window after suffering relegation from the Championship to League One.
The Hatters have seen both former goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski and Reece Burke leave Kenilworth Road in favour of second-tier new boys Charlton Athletic.
Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Thelo Aasgaard joined Rangers and is vying to help Russell Martin’s men in their upcoming Scottish Premiership title race.
But it hasn’t all been bad news for Luton, who have also acquired former Bristol City duo Kal Naismith and Nahki Wells.

Aasgaard reacts as Alfie Doughty leaves Luton for Millwall
Aasgaard’s departure has left Luton with less attacking threat than they previously boasted, while utility man Alfie Doughty joined Championship side Millwall on Monday, 28 July.
After joining the Lions, Doughty shared his excitement on Instagram as he wrote: “Go time” alongside a blue heart emoji.
The 25-year-old’s message attracted a like from his former Luton teammate Aasgaard.
Doughty deal represents good business for Millwall
Football Insider verdict
Even though Luton have suffered back-to-back relegations from the Premier League to League One, Doughty has proven himself as an asset in both the top flight and the Championship.
| Alfie Doughty stats | Championship 2024/25 |
| Appearances | 26 |
| Goals | 1 |
| Assists | 4 |
The former Charlton man was one of the Bedfordshire outfit’s standout players in the Premier League, notching two goals and eight assists in 37 top-tier outings in 2023/24.
He subsequently scored one goal and produced four assists in 26 Championship appearances last season, operating effectively as both a wide midfielder and a wingback.
Meanwhile, after missing out on the playoffs by just two points last campaign, Millwall are battling to land a top-six spot next season.
Alex Neil’s side face a tough battle on their hands to hit those lofty heights, but Doughty’s Luton days prove he is an asset in the Championship.
Millwall will also enjoy the services of summer signing Massimo Luongo, who won consecutive promotions with his former club Ipswich Town.
