Kieran Maguire predicts Rangers to seal £25m+ deal after director update

Rangers can improve on their £25million-a-year kit partnership deal with Castore.

So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about remarks made by James Bisgrove at the club’s recent AGM.

As quoted by The National on Wednesday (1 December), the commercial director revealed the club has the option to “go back to the market” with regards to the current deal with Castore.

The Herald reported in July (2021) that the five-year deal partnership is worth £25m per season.

Maguire sees no reason why Rangers cannot barter with Castore for a more lucrative contract next time around.

There is potential for an improved deal there,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.

“Rangers is a very big brand. They like the position of being the flagship club for Castore.

“That means that they do get potentially more due care and attention in terms of the product.

“If you are with the likes of Adidas and Nike on the other hand, they have other flagship clubs.

“Castore have got to be happy in terms of the volume of sales. That’s been a success.

Clearly, there were issues with regards to the quality of the product which were embarrassing for all parties.

“It could allow Rangers to either increase the fee or commission, given the success they have had to date.

“The league title added to that success and the relationship with Castore as well.”

Rangers earned £4.6m from commercial and retail activities in the last recorded financial year.

The Scottish champions are once again top of the league approaching the festive period.
