Rangers to contact Wolves over agreeing new-look Fabio Silva deal – sources
Rangers are keen to sign Fabio Silva on a permanent basis in the summer window and will make contact soon with Wolves over a potential deal, sources have told Football Insider.
However, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Gers will not be able to sanction a mega-money move for the 21-year-old – even if they qualify directly to the Champions League league phase.
They will instead enquire about a possible cut-price move for Silva with Wolves still needing to balance the books for Financial Fair Play reasons.
The Portugal Under-21 international joined Rangers on loan in January but the two clubs did not agree on an option-to-buy clause for a set fee.
Silva has made seven starts in 15 total appearances for Philippe Clement’s side as they take on Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race.

He has notched four goals in those outings.
The youngster has played both as a centre-forward and on the left flank for the Ibrox club since joining.
Clement has already revealed he wanted to bring Silva to the club permanently in January but admitted he was “too expensive” for the Glasgow giants.

It is believed Rangers will now count on Wolves reducing their asking price in the summer window as their financial situation continues to hamper Gary O’Neil.
Silva joined the Molineux club for a then-club-record £35million in 2019 but has managed just five goals in 72 appearances for the Premier League side.
