Rangers told to complete signings imminently – ‘even more on the way’
Rangers have been told that they have to make more new signings before the end of the window if they want to challenge in the Scottish Premiership.
Russell Martin has had a disappointing start to life at Ibrox, as the Gers drew their first two games of the domestic campaign.
Arch-rivals Celtic are already four points clear of Rangers, who are looking to win the Scottish title for the first time in five years.
Last season, Brendan Rodgers’ side cruised to domestic success, finishing 17 points clear of the Light Blues.
Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Pittodrie between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Rangers must make more signings before the window closes in order to avoid a repeat of the 2024/25 campaign.

‘Rangers need new soldiers, the old ones aren’t cutting it’
This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen CEO.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Gers fans would really appreciate some more new faces, as the old guard aren’t cutting it anymore.
Last weekend, Rangers drew 1-1 with Dundee, which was the exact same scoreline as their opening day contest against Motherwell.
Wyness added that Martin needs soldiers who are able to play in Scotland week in, week out.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think what the fans would appreciate is some more new faces, even more than they’ve done already. I think they’ve been happy enough with some of the quality of some of the new signings coming in.
“Certainly, the European nights, they’ve done well. But in terms of the Scottish league, you’re going to have those soldiers who’ve got to play in Scotland every week.
“The old ones don’t seem to be cutting it right now. So you’ve got to get some new talent in with some new energy and that’s what Rangers have to do.”

Rangers expect offers for striker
Meanwhile, Rangers are expecting to receive a number of offers for Hamza Igamane in the closing stages of the transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The Glasgow giants were expecting a lot of interest in the 22-year-old this summer, but there has been no official bids for him so far.
Everton are one of the teams linked with Igamane, as they look to bolster their attacking ranks ahead of the upcoming campaign.
However, sources say that the interested clubs are waiting for the Moroccan’s asking price to drop before making any formal approaches.
