Rangers told to follow Celtic ‘blueprint’ as Michael Beale’s summer budget to be slashed – pundit
Frank McAvennie has claimed Rangers should use Celtic as a “blueprint” of how to run the club.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said Michael Beale won’t be given as much money as he thinks to spend this summer.
On Monday (8 May), sources told this site that head of corporate hospitality Pippa Dickson is the fifth senior staff member set to depart Ibrox.
She follows husband and director of finance and football Andrew Dickson as well as Craig Mulholland, Ross Wilson out of the Glasgow club.
Managing director Stuart Robertson is also stepping down at the end of the season.
The Gers are set for a massive summer transfer window as manager Michael Beale prepares for a huge overhaul of his squad.
As quoted by Sky Sports last month (1 April), Beale said he has a “good budget” as he prepares for the upcoming window.
But McAvennie insisted Beale should be careful with his optimism.
“It is strange what is happening,” he told Football Insider.
“The manager keeps talking about how much money he is going to be spending in the summer but all the directors are jumping ship. I do not think he will be getting anything.
“If I was a season ticket holder or a fan I would be concerned.

“Celtic were in dire straits years ago and look at it now. It shows that a club can still be a powerhouse but have their finances in order.
“It is the blueprint of what Rangers should be doing to be honest.“
