Rangers told to seal deal for Alfredo Morelos replacement ‘as soon as possible’ – expert

Alan Hutton has urged Rangers to sign Antonio Colak while Alfredo Morelos in the final 12 months of his contract.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Rangers right-back has claimed Colak, 28, would offer something different to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side.

According to the Scottish Sun (2 July), the sale of striker could be delayed until PAOK can find a replacement.

A fee and personal terms between the forward and Rangers have reportedly been agreed.

The Scottish club are said to be prepared to pay £2million plus add-ons for the Croatian.

When asked for his assessment of the latest, Hutton told Football Insider: “They definitely need a striker in my opinion.

“We’re unsure what’s going to happen with Alfredo Morelos into the last 12 months of his contract, is he possibly going to leave? It’s likely that he could so they need somebody in.

Although I don’t know a lot about him [Colak], I’ve obviously seen a bit about him when Rangers played Malmo. He’s obviously a good player, he scored the goal that hurt them as well.

“He gives you something different, a different profile of player from what Rangers already have. He’s a tall number nine, likes to get in the box, likes to score goals where [Kemar] Roofe likes to play round about people and we know what Morelos brings.

“So I think to bring someone like that in is a priority and hopefully Giovanni van Bronckhorst can do it as soon as possible.
