Sources: Tranmere Rovers make move to sign Rangers rising star Kelly
Tranmere Rovers have registered their interest in signing Rangers midfielder Stephen Kelly in this month’s transfer window, Football Insider understands.
The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the best young talents to emerge at Ibrox and the Scottish giants feel a loan move is the next stage of his development.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Tranmere are among a number of clubs who have enquired about taking Kelly for the second half of the season.

Scottish Championship outfit Kilmarnock are also interested in the Scotland Under-21 midfielder.
Tranmere’s interest is especially notable as they completed the loan capture of Kelly’s Rangers teammate Josh McPake on Thursday.
Football Insider broke the news of the McPake deal and now this site has learned that Kelly is wanted to make it an Ibrox January double.
Like McPake, who is a wide attacker, Kelly is highly regarded by Rangers and seen as a potential first teamer of the future.
He has a contract with the Glasgow giants that runs until the summer of 2023.
The central midfielder has made three senior appearances for the Light Blues, two of which have come this season.
Former boss Steven Gerrard selected Kelly in a Europa League qualifier against Alashkert in August as well as in a 5-0 Scottish League Cup drubbing of Kilmarnock.

Tranmere announced the loan capture of McPake, 20, on Wednesday afternoon.
He completed a move to the League Two promotion hopefuls until the end of the season.
