Kieran Maguire: Rangers ‘treading very carefully’ as Aaron Ramsey wage details emerge
Rangers will have ensured Aaron Ramsey’s wages are well within their budget and do not jeopardise their financial situation.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Welshman’s sensational January move to Ibrox.
The reigning Scottish champions confirmed on Monday (31 January) that 31-year-old had signed on loan from Juventus until the end of the season.

Ramsey is one of the best-paid players at Juve, where he is under contract until 2023.
But as quoted by club media on the day of his arrival, sporting director Ross Wilson revealed that the loan terms are “within our normal wage model”.
Maguire insists that the board will have considered all facets of the deal to ensure it is in line with their pay structure.
“A structured deal is within their means,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“They’ll have looked into this. A deal was needed that would suit Juventus, Ramsey and Rangers.
“He is still an employee of Juventus and his wages will be paid directly to him by the club.
“That means he will be able to have half of his income effectively untaxed. There is a generous tax law in Italy that allows him to do that.
“Rangers will pay a loan fee, so they aren’t paying wages directly. That makes sense from their point of view. Everyone has some form of benefit.
“At the same time, I’m sure the Rangers board will be treading very carefully in monitoring their budget.
“They want to progress but they want to progress at the right speed.”

Ramsey did not feature in the matchday squad as Rangers were thumped 3-0 by Celtic on Wednesday (2 February).
But he could make his debut today (6 February) against Hearts.
