Rangers TV pundit ‘surprised’ as Fashion Sakala bid reported

Alan Hutton is “surprised” by the news of Fashion Sakala’s potential Rangers loan exit.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-right-back and current Gers TV pundit suggested Giovanni van Bronckhorst will not want to loan out the 25-year-old without signing a replacement.

According to French outlet Homme du Match (3 July), Rangers are said to have rejected a bid from Auxerre for the striker.

The Zambian joined the Ibrox club last summer from KV Oostende.

He penned a four-year deal with the Scottish giants.

When asked for his assessment of the latest, Hutton told Football Insider: “I was a little bit surprised, to be quite honest.

I think a lot of the fans like him, they like his passion for the game, what he brings. He can be like a firework, you don’t really know what he’s going to give you but he’s going to give you energy and enthusiasm which is a good trait to have.

Rangers have not done a lot of business at this moment in time and that’s why I worry a little bit about what’s going to happen with Alfredo Morelos.

To even think about sending Sakala out at this moment in time, when we saw what happened to him last year when Morelos wasn’t playing, I wouldn’t have thought Giovanni van Bronckhorst would be desperate to let one of his striking options leave at this moment in time.

I think he’s going to have to keep him and see how it develops further down the window.
