‘Rangers well placed to agree signings as new arrival heads in’
Rangers are set for a big summer as they look to improve their squad to close the gap on Celtic ahead of next season.
The Scottish giants have failed to claim any silverware this season after being knocked out of the Europa League and the domestic cup competitions.
Celtic have been crowned Scottish Premiership champions with four games left to play, having built up a 17-point lead over Rangers.
The Ibrox club have been looking to improve their executive team as they prepare for a new era, with the 49ers Enterprises-backed group looking to complete its takeover.
Rangers have announced Kevin Thelwell as their new sporting director after Patrick Stewart was appointed CEO in December.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Thelwell should have some good ideas about signings to bring in at Ibrox this summer.
The 51-year-old will join Rangers when his contract at Everton expires this summer, having spent three years working as the director of football at Goodison Park.

Rangers get transfer boost after new hires
Borson insisted Rangers are starting to become more attractive as they look to appoint a new manager and bring players in this summer.
He told Football Insider: “Momentum is very important in these situations.
“I think they’ve struggled to get momentum for a while. But if you can start to put a few of these building blocks together, it becomes more attractive.
“Thelwell should have some good ideas for signings because he was probably looking at more of the value end when he was at Everton, just because of the restraints that they had.
“The sort of players that he’s probably been thinking about are probably pretty similar for Rangers, which is going to be important.
“The Europa League quarter-final also gives them the right sort of presence and feel, so I think it’s all good steps in the right direction.
“I think the Patrick Stewart situation is also something that people will look at and see a club heading in the right direction.
“Now, of course, the new owners might take a different view entirely and may have different ideas about who they want to run it, but you’d be hard pushed to find somebody more experienced than Patrick Stewart to take that role.
“I think it all looks like good momentum, but we’re all looking from the outside.”
