Rangers will blow Celtic away after ‘partying’ – Keith Wyness
Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness has backed Rangers to “upset” rivals Celtic in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park on Saturday (25 May).
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Aberdeen between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed the Hoops may suffer from a lapse in concentration after winning the Scottish Premiership title.

Brendan Rodgers’ side won the league by eight points after overcoming a strong challenge from Philippe Clement’s outfit.
Rangers won the Scottish Cup in the 2021-22 campaign – their only triumph in the competition since 2009.
Wyness tips Rangers for Scottish Cup victory against Celtic
Wyness claimed the Gers’ “desperation” for success may get them over the line.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I can see a Rangers upset.
“It looks like Celtic, much like Man City, have had a week of partying.
“It takes me back to my time at Everton, when we qualified for the Champions League in 2004 on a Wednesday – we perhaps had too many celebratory shandies a bit too late.
“Then we played Arsenal the next game and got beat 7-0. It can happen.
“I think Celtic may have enjoyed it too much.

“I see Rangers winning 2-1 with a goal in extra time. Celtic may have taken their foot off the gas, but Rangers will be desperate to try and make something happen.
“That desperation may just get them over the line.”
