Rangers will break transfer record for Abadallah Sima on one condition – sources
Rangers will break their transfer record to sign Abdallah Sima if they win the league and land a huge transfer kitty from Champions League qualification, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking to the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, Scottish correspondent Daniel Bowers revealed that the Gers would have no issue forking out a club-record fee to sign the on-loan star permanently this summer.
It is believed that Premier League outfit Brighton, Sima’s parent club, value him at between £10-15million.
If Rangers pay in the higher bracket of the Seagulls’ valuation for Sima, it will break the record set by Tore Andre Flo’s reported £12million move from Chelsea in 2000.
Rangers will buy Sima if they earn Champions League football
Before the Senegal international’s devastating hamstring injury during the African Cup of Nations, he was Rangers’ most prolific attacker.
Across 33 games in all competitions, he scored 15 goals and provided 2 assists, but has been sidelined since January.
Sources have also told Football Insider (31 December) that Brighton would be willing to sell Sima if their valuation is met as he does not fit into their plans going forward and they have plenty of top-level attacking options at their disposal.

Rangers remain top of the league despite their 2-1 loss to Motherwell on Saturday (2 March) and secured a 2-2 draw against Benfica in the Europa League on Thursday night (7 March).
They are next set for Scottish Cup action in the quarter-finals against Hibernian on Sunday evening (10 March).
