Rangers wonderkid delivers insight into Caixinha training techniques, this is big difference from Warburton
By Danny Wright
Liam Burt has revealed that there is a distinct difference in training sessions at Rangers since Pedro Caixinha was appointed as manager.
The Ibrox wonderkid states that the Portuguese boss likes to take a direct approach in his style of play while former manager Mark Warburton wanted to see his squad play a slower, possession-based game.
Warburton left Gers last month in acrimonious circumstances before Caixinha was handed the reins for his first game in charge against Hamilton last week.
Burt, who has been on international duty as captain of the Scottish Under-19 side, has also revealed he is yet to speak to Caixinha but has praised his training techniques.
“I’ve not had the chance to speak to him on an individual basis yet because he’s had a lot to do but I’m sure I will soon,” said the 18-year-old, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

“The training’s probably a bit more attack-orientated. Mark Warburton wanted to attack but to keep the ball in the process. The new manager is maybe a bit more direct.
“The training is sharp. Some of the drills are taking some getting used to but that’s only because we’re new to them. It’ll take time but I’m sure they will become habit in a few weeks.
“I think I’m improving all the time through training with the first team.”
Burt has made five first-team appearances for Rangers since he was handed his debut by Warburton in a 2-0 win over Raith Rovers last season.
He has since gone on to make five first team appearances for the club and scored his first senior goal in a 4-0 Challenge Cup victory over Stirling Uni.
The attacking midfielder has moulded himself into a leader at youth levels as he captained the Scottish side during their European Under-17 Championship campaign in 2016.
Despite picking up an Under-21 cap first, Burt has made seven appearances for the Under-19 side after featuring against Austria in this international break last week.
