Ranked: Premier League’s top five revenues after Man United smash club record

Manchester United are continuing to perform well as a business despite facing various challenges on the pitch.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe took over Man United’s footballing operations in February 2024 after initially purchasing a 27.7 per cent stake for £1.25billion.

The INEOS chief claimed earlier this year Man United would have gone “bust by Christmas” if it wasn’t for his cost-cutting measures, which have seen hundreds of staff made redundant at Old Trafford.

However, Man United smashed their club-record revenue again in 2024-25, ensuring they sit near the top of the list for the highest turnover across the Premier League.

Here are the top five Premier League revenues.

5 – Tottenham (£528m)

While Daniel Levy was a controversial figure among the Tottenham fans, their former chairman left the club in a strong financial position after his departure was confirmed earlier this month.

Tottenham’s latest published accounts for 2023-24 revealed their turnover fell from £550m in 2022-23 to £528m, but that was driven by a significant drop in Uefa prize money.

Spurs’ commercial revenue increased from £228m to £255m across the same period as they continue to cash in on opportunities at their new stadium.

4 – Liverpool (£614m)

Liverpool posted a record-breaking revenue in 2023-24 after their turnover improved from £594m in 2022-23 to £614m.

That was aided by an uplift in commercial income, which increased by £25m to £273m.

Although their accounts are yet to be published for 2024-25, Liverpool are expected to have broken their record revenue last season following their title success under Arne Slot

3 – Arsenal (£617m)

Arsenal have enjoyed a significant financial boost over the past couple of years after competing higher in the Premier League table.

Mikel Arteta’s side also posted a club-record revenue in 2023-24, with their turnover surging from £467m to £617m.

Arsenal’s strong financial performance was driven by their return to the Champions League and improved commercial income, which increased from £169m to £218m.

2 – Man United (£667m)

Man United have been struggling on the pitch of late, but they remain a force to be reckoned with financially.

Ruben Amorim’s side published their 2024-25 accounts on Wednesday (17 September), revealing their turnover has risen from £662m to £667m.

That figure was boosted by Man United’s significant uplift in commercial revenue, which improved from £303m in 2023-24 to £333m last season.

1 – Man City (£715m)

Pep Guardiola’s side continue to maximise their commercial opportunities, with their income in that department increasing from £341m to £345m.
