Raphinha has ‘no loyalty’ and will quit Leeds ‘within a year’ after update today – pundit

Raphinha has “no loyalty to Leeds United” and “will leave within the next year”, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker delivered his verdict after reports linking Raphinha to Bayern Munich.

Phil Hay of the Athletic reported today (29 December) Leeds are yet to receive any contact from the German giants over their winger.

Instead, they are in talks with Raphinha and his agent Deco over an extended deal that would include a major pay rise.

His current terms are set to expire in the summer of 2024 after he signed a four-year deal with the club following his move from Rennes last summer (2020).

Asked for his verdict on the Brazil international’s situation, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “There is talk of Raphinha going to Bayern Munich.

“He will leave within the next year. Leeds would be in for a tough rest of the season if Raphinha went in January.

“There’s no chance he will sign a new contract. He’s got no loyalty to Leeds.

“He will look at it and say ‘No chance of me signing a new deal, I’m going. I want to go to a club like Bayern Munich’.

“He will not let Leeds stop him from going.”

Raphinha has carried Marcelo Bielsa’s struggling side scoring eight of their 18 goals and providing an assist for another.

He has now found the net 14 times and contributed 10 assists in 47 games across all competitions for the Yorkshire giants.

In other news, Leeds United have been tipped to agree a big-money ‘release clause’ as new talks are reported in the last 48 hours.
