Raphinha’s ‘£50m’ Leeds United transfer is ‘a matter of time’ after update – Kenny

Paddy Kenny insists it’s “a matter of time” before Raphinha leaves Leeds United and joins Barcelona.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid the latest on the winger’s future.

As reported by Spanish publication Sport on Tuesday (29 March), Barca are readying a second offer worth an initial £33.9million (€40million) for the 25-year-old.

Leeds United

It is claimed a further £8.5million (€10million) could be included in add-ons with the club’s initial offer of £29.6million (€35million) rebuffed.

The Catalan giants reportedly will not improve on their offer, knowing that Raphinha has a £21.2million (€25million) release clause if Leeds are relegated.

Kenny insists Raphinha’s exit is inevitable.

“No, he’s not hanging around,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“That’s no disrespect to Leeds but this is Barcelona we are talking about here.

“It’s a move you can’t turn down but I’m sure Leeds will want a lot more than has been offered.

“I think £50million is the bare minimum they will let him go for.

“Now it’s about getting the right money and then finding someone to replace him because once Barcelona want you, that’s it.

“It’s a matter of time before he goes there if Barca really want him.”

Raphinha has scored 15 goals and contributed 12 assists in 60 appearances for the Whites.

Nine of those goals came in the Premier League this season.
