Rashford to Aston Villa: ‘Permanent details emerge amid goodbyes at Man United’
Marcus Rashford will sign a three-year deal at Aston Villa if his imminent loan move from Man United is made permanent, Luca Bendoni reports.
The United academy graduate has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe during this January transfer window.
It appears that Unai Emery’s Villa have made the most advanced move, with reports now claiming that the 27-year-old is nearing a loan move [The Athletic].
Chris Wheeler, who writes for the Daily Mail, reported via X on 1 February that Rashford had already bid farewell to those at Old Trafford, saying his “goodbyes” to staff at the training ground.
Bendoni, a journalist working with Sky Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio, added further details on how the deal can be made permanent. He confirmed that the two clubs are negotiating the final terms of Rashford’s move, with a transfer option expected to be included and a 60/40 split in terms of salary payment with Villa paying the greater amount.
If Emery does trigger the option it would result in a contract that runs until 2028 coming into effect for the English attacker.

Football Insider Verdict
United are under pressure to offload Rashford as they navigate Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and look to raise funds for their new manager.
However, tensions have risen between the Englishman and Ruben Amorim since the English forward was controversially dropped for the Manchester derby.
Rashford addressed his future directly, expressed his desire to move on from his boyhood club last month.
With seven goals in 24 appearances this season, he has been the subject of transfer speculation. It now appears that he is set to join Emery’s team.
Villa will benefit from the signing, particularly after Jhon Duran’s move to Al Nassr. That’s a move that sparked disapproval from both fans and pundits.
For Rashford, this represents a much-needed fresh start. If he performs well, there’s a real chance of making the move permanent. It’s now up to him to make the most of the opportunity.
