Rasmus Hojlund hits out at Man United fan in ‘disturbing’ new message

Man United forward Rasmus Hojlund has hit out at a fan who criticised him for his recent form on social media after their 2-0 Premier League defeat to Wolves on Boxing Day (December 26).

The 21-year-old played 79 minutes before being replaced by Joshua Zirkzee as Man United fell to a humiliating 2-0 home defeat at the hands of relegation-threatened Wolves.

United conceded directly from a corner for the second time this season after Matheus Cunha gave the home side the lead in the 58th minute.

The Brazilian forward then selflessly laid off striker partner Hee-Chan Hwang in added time to secure a much-needed three points for Wolves.

Ruben Amorim’s side have now suffered three consecutive defeats across all competitions, being knocked out of the League Cup by Tottenham and falling to 14th with six wins, four draws, eight defeats, and 22 points from their 18 games.

Rasmus Hojlund hits back at a fan as Man United struggles continue

The striker has been in and out of the side all season, starting 13 of his 21 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals, and providing one assist in his 1204 minutes of action.

Hojlund has failed to live up to the £72million it cost United to secure his signature from Atalanta back in 2023, and one fan is fed up, taking to Instagram to express his frustration.

The anonymous supporter said: “Erik ten Hag needs to be trialed in court for the signing of Rasmus Højlund. Lock him up and throw away the key.

“When your starting number nine’s most notorious attribute is whining his backside on defenders, you know you’re in trouble.

The TL will bring up the fact that he doesn’t get service, but that’s what happens when you can’t anticipate or position yourself into those goalscoring areas.

“The trampoline touch and lack of hold up play too? The £72m package has never looked so limited.

Hojlund, unhappy with the fan’s assessment of his game, sent him a private message, which has since been revealed, saying: “Hi, I find your post a bit disturbing mate. You are right to have your opinion, but stop talking about things you know nothing about, that is all.”

United’s defeat to Wolves means the club have lost five, or more, games in December for the second consecutive season.

Amorim’s side will host Eddie Howe’s inform Newcastle in their last game of 2024 in desperate need of a win to see the year out.
