Rasmus Hojlund’s surprising Napoli release revealed after he leaves Man United
Manchester United may be surprised to learn the value of the release clause which has been inserted into Rasmus Hojlund’s contract at Napoli.
Hojlund left Man United to join Napoli on loan on deadline day, and the Italian club have an obligation to buy the striker next summer.
Napoli will purchase Hojlund for £38million, a significant loss for Man United who signed the Denmark international from Atalanta for £72m just two years ago.
The 22-year-old struggled at Old Trafford, and Man United have signed Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha during the summer to bolster their strike force.

Ramus Hojlund’s contract details disclosed
Napoli have inserted a release clause into Hojlund’s contract which, as per Fabrizio Romano on X [6 September], is worth €85m.
Romano stated the release clause will come into effect from the 2027 summer transfer window.
It was also revealed the payment schedule will be split in three years.
Fulham and AC Milan showed interest in Hojlund during the summer as alternative destinations for the striker before Napoli secured his signature.

Amorim required more impact from his forwards, and he has signed proven Premier League players in Mbeumo and Cunha.
Hojlund was not included in any matchday squad this season at Man United before his departure, with Joshua Zirkzee preferred to fill a spot on the bench.
A fresh start back in Serie A may be what is required for Hojlund to reignite his career, and the high release clause means Napoli could make a big profit on the striker in the future.
