Arsenal favourite Ray Parlour has urged the club to end Chelsea’s dreams of a domestic double this season.

Chelsea secured the Premier League title with a win over West Brom on Friday night, but their FA Cup campaign is still far from over, with Arsenal the only side standing in their way.

Following Chelsea’s title triumph, Parlour took to his personal Twitter account to urge his former club to prevent Chelsea from winning the double, whilst congratulating them on their achievement.

He said: “Well done @ChelseaFC Champions. Come on @Arsenal we can’t let them win the double.”

Arsenal have endured a rollercoaster campaign this season that leaves them on the brink of finishing outside the Premier League’s top four.

Their woes continued into European competition, where they suffered an embarrassing 10-2 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich in the new year which saw them crash out of the Champions League knockout-stages.

However, a slight improvement in results over the last couple of weeks has seen them threaten a late surge into the top-four, whilst keeping their hopes of silverware alive in the FA Cup.

The Gunners sit fifth in the Premier League ahead of Saturday’s trip to Stoke, where they are three points adrift of Manchester City and the top four.

They are due to meet Chelsea in the FA Cup Final on Saturday 27th May, looking to win the competition for the third time in the last four seasons.

In other Arsenal news, a Telegraph report has detailed the five-point plan agreed by the club at their recent transfer summit.
