Perez has now made eight appearances since his summer move to the Emirates and scored five goals, but faces tough competition from Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud.
Ex-Arsenal midfielder Parlour has praised the striker after his heroics on Tuesday night.

Arsenal completed the £17million sign of Perez from Spanish side Deportivo in the summer transfer window and he was expected to challenge Giroud for a starting role.
Wenger has found great success playing attacker Sanchez in a central position and he is currently the first name on the team sheet.
Perez has certainly impressed during his opportunities in the cup competitions and will now be eyeing a regular starting position.
The Spaniard is yet to score in the Premier League but has only been on the pitch for a combined 87 league minutes this season.
He could be in line to get a greater opportunity during a busy December period as Arsenal face three league games in just eight days.
In other Arsenal news, the club’s supporters reacted on Twitter to Granit Xhaka’s performance against Basel.
