Ray Parlour has backed Tottenham to overcome West Brom on Saturday and feels that Dele Alli is thriving in Mauricio Pochettino’s system.
Spurs host the Baggies on Saturday in the Premier League and will temporarily move up to second in the table with a victory.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are in a great run of form and have won their last six games across all competitions, including a 2-0 win over table toppers Chelsea in their last league match.
The north London club will be hoping to get the better of bogey side West Brom and the two sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns in October.
Parlour has tipped Spurs to gain the three points and continue their good run, with attacking midfielder Alli a real threat in their side.
“I’ve got Spurs to win this one,” Parlour told the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast.“I think West Brom will go with the exact same tactics as they did against Chelsea, they’re very hard to beat.
“I think Spurs are playing so well right now. Dele Alli popped up with the goods again with another two goals (against Chelsea) for him.The system they play with three at the back really lets him have that licence to get in the box every time and he can take advantage of that.”
Alli will be hoping to continue his goalscoring form against West Brom on Saturday and the England international has benefited from the new Spurs system.
The 20-year-old has scored seven goals in his last four Premier League games and is the in-form player in the division.
Alli has been given more freedom to support Harry Kane in attack since Pochettino switched to a three-man defence.
In other Tottenham news, the club’s starlet has posted a two-word Twitter message after his performance for the Under-23s.
