Rayan Ait-Nouri reacts to Matheus Nunes ahead of Man City announcement
Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Nunes could be Manchester City teammates within the next few days, and the former has reacted to the latter’s recent social media post.
Ait-Nouri initially joined Wolves as a loanee back in 2020, and after spending a season at Molineux, completed a permanent move from French club Angers.
The Algerian international impressed during the 2024/25 campaign, scoring four goals and picking up seven assists during his 37 Premier League appearances.

Wolves have already lost Matheus Cunha to Manchester United this summer, and it seems as if the left-back could be following the Brazilian out the door.

Ait-Nouri to City all but confirmed
It is believed that Ait-Nouri’s move to Man City is all but confirmed, after Wolves accepted a £33.7million offer for the 24-year-old.
The Algerian has completed his medical and is now free to discuss personal terms with the Manchester club.
An announcement is expected in the next few days, with City wanting to get the deal done before Tuesday’s 7pm deadline, which would allow the full-back to play for them at the revamped Club World Cup.
Ait-Nouri is already interacting with his new teammates on social media, liking Portuguese star Nunes’ recent Instagram post, which showed him enjoying a friend’s wedding during the off-season.
City in the middle of busy summer
Football Insider Verdict
Pep Guardiola’s side are in the middle of a squad rebuild, after failing to defend their Premier League title last season, ending the campaign 13 points behind runaway winners Liverpool.
The Spanish manager revealed that he wants to work with a smaller group in the future, so a lot of transfer activity is expected this summer.
After struggling for game time over the last 12 months, Jack Grealish is set to leave City, with both Napoli and Newcastle interested.
In terms of incomings, Lyon are in advanced negotiations with City over the sale of Rayan Cherki, with the 21-year-old showing huge potential during the most recent Ligue 1 campaign.
The gap to Liverpool looks a tough one to close, but Guardiola has an inherent ability to make the correct moves in the transfer market, and this summer is unlikely to be any different.
