Real Madrid ace Rodrygo sends clear message amid Arsenal speculation
Real Madrid winger Rodrygo has taken to social media to issue an update on his situation in the wake of speculation around a move to Arsenal.
The Gunners look set for a busy period in the market in the summer transfer window, as they attempt to put together a squad that can finally end their long wait for a trophy during the 2025/26 campaign.
There have been claims from that Arsenal are the club pushing hardest to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid this summer, which have excited Gunners supporters.
That comes after a season in which the 24-year-old has faced more competition for a place in the starting XI than in recent years.
It has also been reported he does not want to play for Madrid again after an issue with Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe [Marca].

Rodrygo hits back over speculation
In the wake of all that speculation about his future, Football Insider has been told that Rodrygo would be a “statement” signing for Arsenal if they can pull a deal off.
However, Mikel Arteta‘s side look to have been dealt a blow over any hopes they might have of completing this season.
Rodrygo 2024/25 stats | Total (Transfermarkt) |
Appearances | 50 |
Goals | 13 |
Assists | 10 |
Yellow Cards | 0 |
Red Cards | 0 |
On Wednesday (14 May), the player himself took to his Instagram story to respond to the rumours around his future at Real Madrid, after not featuring in their last two games.
While posting a picture of himself seemingly undergoing treatment for an injury issue that has contributed to his recent absence, the winger added a caption that when translated reads:
“Thanks for all the message and concern. I’ll be back soon. Stop making stuff up.”

Arsenal to have mixed feelings over transfer update
Football Insider Verdict
Judging by this update Rodrygo is adamant he will not be going anywhere soon despite the speculation around his future at Real Madrid.
On the one hand that will be frustrating for Arsenal, given he is a quality player with trophy-winning pedigree, which is surely just what they will need next season.
Indeed, the Brazilian would feel like something of an upgrade on his international teammate Gabriel Martinelli on that left hand side for Arteta’s team.
However, Football Insider understands Rodrygo has an £85million price tag which would put strain on the budget for Arsenal, as they look to make other important signings this summer.
In that respect, given the need to add in a number of positions before the start of the new campaign, missing out on Rodrygo may not be the very worst thing that could happen to them.
