Reece James and Marc Cucurella react to Nicolas Jackson’s cryptic Chelsea message

Nicolas Jackson shared a message on social media as Chelsea prepare to seek revenge against Brighton.

Chelsea were eliminated from the FA Cup by Brighton despite taking an early lead through a Bart Verbruggen own goal.

Georginio Rutter quickly equalised, and Kaoru Mitoma later scored a controversial Brighton winner, with some arguing the ball struck his arm before he found the net.

Jackson missed the match due to injury but has since posted on social media as Chelsea get ready to face the Seagulls again, this time in the Premier League.

Enzo Maresca puts his trust in Nicolas Jackson

Jackson shared a message with Chelsea fans following their FA Cup defeat, despite not featuring in the match, and has once again taken to Instagram to address supporters.

His post read, “Time and silence” accompanied by a collage of training pictures as he works towards recovery. Captain Reece James and Marc Cucurella showed their support by liking the post whilst Moises Caicedo left a comment with a blue heart.

Chelsea fans expressed frustration at the board after Enzo Maresca confirmed that both Marc Guiu and Jackson would be unavailable for the cup match due to injuries.

The Senegal international has been a key player for the coach, making 24 appearances this season, including 22 Premier League starts.

He has registered nine goals and five assists this campaign but is currently enduring an eight-game goal drought in the league.

Chelsea must regain form after FA Cup exit

Football Insider Verdict

Maresca’s side are now out of both domestic cup competitions and sit fourth in the Premier League, with Manchester City and Newcastle just two points behind.

With Jackson struggling for goals and currently injured, the club’s attacking options remain limited. Christopher Nkunku is expected to see more game time at Chelsea while injuries persist, but he has yet to impress.

After allowing Joao Felix to leave on loan to AC Milan and failing to bring in an attacking reinforcement in January, Maresca will be hoping Jackson’s message signals a swift return.

With a European spot to fight for, the club must regroup as they prepare to face Brighton once again, aiming to bounce back from their cup disappointment.
