Reece James and Nicolas Jackson respond to Moises Caicedo’s passionate message

Reece James and Nicolas Jackson were among the Chelsea teammates reacting to Moises Caicedo’s latest message as international duty begins.

Chelsea ended the season on a high, securing Champions League football and lifting the Conference League trophy with a victory over Real Betis.

Despite periods of pressure throughout the campaign, Enzo Maresca delivered silverware and guided the Blues back into Europe’s top competition in his debut season.

Caicedo was instrumental in Chelsea’s strong finish, emerging as a vital figure in Maresca’s midfield and being named the club’s Player of the Year for his consistent performances.

Although club football has paused for now, attention now turns to the international stage as Caicedo links up with his national team.

Moises Caicedo prepares for Ecuador World Cup qualifiers

Although Caicedo wrapped up his club season with Chelsea just last week (28 May), his focus has already shifted to international duty with Ecuador.

The midfielder posted a rallying message on Instagram, writing: “Let’s all go together.”

His post was met with support from his Chelsea teammates, with the likes of Jackson, Trevoh Chalobah and club captain Reece James all liking the message.

Ecuador are set to face both Brazil and Peru in the coming week, currently sitting second in the qualifying table with 23 points.

For Caicedo, it marks a significant turnaround after a tough debut campaign following his £115 million move from Brighton in 2023. This season, however, he’s been a constant presence in Chelsea’s midfield, making 45 appearances in all competitions and starting every Premier League fixture.

Chelsea fans have been stunned by Caicedo’s performances, with many now seeing his hefty price tag as justified.

Chelsea end Jadon Sancho pursuit as exit looms

While Caicedo and Jadon Sancho both got on the scoresheet in Chelsea’s Conference League final win, that goal looks set to be the winger’s last for the club.

Chelsea have opted against pursuing a permanent deal for Sancho, after the two parties failed to reach an agreement on personal terms.

Many Chelsea fans had called for the club to sign Sancho after his strong end to the season, including his impressive final performance, but it appears the club have now shifted their focus to other targets.

Sancho made 42 appearances for Chelsea this season, contributing a total of 15 goals and assists.

It remains to be seen who the club will turn to next, but a new left-winger is expected to arrive this summer.
