Reece James: Chelsea told to submit double-your-money offer amid ‘surprise’ claim
Kevin Campbell has urged Chelsea to hand Reece James a bumper new contract amid reported interest from Man City and Real Madrid.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted “there’s no way” the Stamford Bridge club will allow the 22-year-old to leave.
According to the Daily Mail (9 June), Chelsea are yet to approach James over a new contract after their mega-money takeover – putting interested clubs Man City and Real Madrid on high alert.

The report claims the England international is currently earning just £70,000-a-week at the London giants.
James has three years left to run on his contract.
Campbell suggested his talents are no longer a “surprise” after his achievements with Chelsea and England and backed him for a new deal.
When asked if the Blues could look to double his wage this summer, he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “They’re going to have to, let’s be honest.
“Reece James is not a surprise anymore. He’s an England international, he’s a Champions League winner – and he’s a fine player.
“He can play multiple positions too.
“Someone like him will be coveted by Man City and a host of other teams, that’s for sure.
“I’m sure Chelsea will do the right thing, there’s no way they’re going to let him go anywhere.”

10-cap England international James made 39 appearances in the 2021-22 season, notching six goals and 10 assists.
He graduated from the club’s academy – making his first-team debut in September 2019.
