Reece James responds to Chelsea teammate’s devastating injury update
Reece James was among the Chelsea players to rally behind a teammate after an injury update, offering a motivational message of support.
The Blues captain has been on international duty with England after being called up by former manager Thomas Tuchel.
James had a stunning performance against Latvia where he scored a brilliant free-kick in a 3-0 win on 24 March.
James’ muted celebration surprised England fans and pundits, but his display silenced any doubts about his place in the squad.
Despite enduring another injury-hit season in Enzo Maresca’s first campaign in charge, James remained engaged with his teammates, showing his support after the latest setback for one of them.

Omari Kellyman provides post-surgery update as Chelsea teammates show support
Omari Kellyman confirmed that he would miss the remainder of Chelsea’s season last week due to injury, and he has now shared another update on social media.
Posting from his hospital bed, the youngster wrote: “Successful surgery. Road to recovery starts now.”
Chelsea players such as Nicolas Jackson showed support to Kellyman’s message whilst James dedicated a message to the youngster on his Instagram story, writing: “Speedy recovery lil bro. The tables will turn.”

The Chelsea captain has had his fair share of injuries, but Chelsea fans continue to back James, even over manager Maresca in a turbulent season for the Blues.
Meanwhile, Kellyman is still waiting for his first senior appearance since his £19 million move from Aston Villa last summer.

Chelsea fans frustrated with Omari Kellyman’s injury struggles
The 19 year-old’s signing was surprising at the time, and Chelsea fans are growing impatient with Kellyman, as injuries have prevented him from making a first-team breakthrough or securing a loan move.
In December, Football Insider revealed that Chelsea were open to loaning Kellyman out in January, with several EFL clubs showing interest. However, another injury setback halted any potential move, leaving him to continue his recovery at Cobham.
It’s set to be a long road back for the 19-year-old, but with James and his teammates backing him, he’ll have all the motivation he needs to push for a first-team spot once he returns.
