Reliable journalist reveals honest feelings of Leeds players and staff towards Heckingbottom
The staff and players at Leeds United are supportive of manager Paul Heckingbottom after his tough start to life at Elland Road, according to a reliable journalist.
The Yorkshire Evening Post’s Phil Hay, who is one of the most revered reporters when it comes to covering the Whites, has claimed in a column on the newspaper’s website that there is backing from inside the club for the former Barnsley man, even if Andrea Radrizzani’s feelings are uncertain.
It is stated that the playing squad have turned to accept his methods and that they accept there have been some below-par displays from individuals, while the club themselves are impressed with his dedication to the cause with early starts and late finishes, despite having picked up just two victories since joining in February.
Football Insider verdict
While results out on the pitch are all that the fans can see and judge of their manager, what happens behind the scenes can also have a big impact on the future. Heckingbottom seems well liked by those in Elland Road and Thorpe Arch and having his players’ backing is another crucial element. Radrizzani might not be sure but again, he is basing it off results, and he might have to delve deeper to judge whether letting him go just months after arriving at the club is the right decision, for too instability could not only rock the boat, but flip the boat right over, landing Leeds in a serious mess.
In other Leeds United news, the club are set to be handed an imminent attacking boost after a long-term blow.
