Monday medical: Midfielder finalises Tottenham transfer - reliable journalist
By Harvey Byrne
Tottenham midfielder Tom Carroll is finalising a medical at Swansea ahead of a transfer away from the north London side, according to a reliable journalist.
Paul Clement told reporters after the heavy 4-0 defeat against Arsenal on Saturday that the arrival of the 24-year-old was “imminent.”
Meanwhile, Sky Sports also claimed on their website on Saturday that Carroll had been allowed to undergo a medical as well as discuss personal terms with the Swans.
It now appears that the deal could be concluded on Monday with ESPN journalist Peter O’Rourke sharing on his personal Twitter account that Carroll was finalising his medical.

Carroll has featured just three times for the north London side this campaign, with two of his appearances coming in the EFL Cup.

He has not played since the 2-1 cup defeat against Liverpool towards the end of August and a move away could prove the best decision for the midfielder.
Carroll has previously played for Swansea in the 2014-15 campaign, but he also struggled for game time with just 18 appearances in all competitions across the season.
However, the club are now struggling at the bottom of the table and he may now find that first team opportunities are easier to come by.
Football Insider verdict:
Carroll was once a bright prospect at Tottenham, but it is clear that at 24 he is not going to make it at the club. In fact, it is surprising that the club have kept him on this long. With Mousa Dembele, Victor Wanyama, Eric Dier, Dele Alli and the latest emerging star Harry Winks all able to perform in the centre of the midfield, Carroll would simply never see game time for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. A move to Swansea will help reinvigorate his career, while it is still possible that they can stay in the top flight, it is looking increasingly more difficult despite one point currently separating them from safety.
