Report details Everton stance on 30-year-old after deadline day move
By Aramide Oladipo
Everton attacking midfielder Aaron Lennon looks set to remain at the club despite interest from two Premier League teams, according to a report.
The Liverpool Echo claims that Burnley made a last-ditch enquiry in an attempt to sign the 30-year-old on deadline day but the Merseyside club informed them that he is not up for sale.
The newspaper reports that Everton manager Ronald Koeman is desperate to keep hold of the winger this summer as he wants to maintain the quick players within the squad.
The report claims that Watford also held negotiations with the Toffees over a loan move for Lennon earlier this summer but the deal failed to materialise.
It is said that Koeman is not willing to let the midfielder leave Merseyside whilst the future of Kevin Mirallas remains unresolved.

The Toffees are reportedly open to selling Mirallas on a permanent deal before the transfer window shuts on Thursday evening.
Lennon has been on the road to recovery this season after suffering from a stress related illness which saw him miss the latter stages of the previous campaign.
The winger has featured in two matches for Everton this season but he has failed to complete the full 90 minutes.
Lennon’s current contract at Goodison Park runs out next summer.
Football Insider verdict
Although he is unlikely to feature in the starting lineup for the majority of the season, Lennon can still provide the squad with quality and experience. Everton will surely be seeking to go far in the Europa League this season and in order to compete on all front, he will need to have a fairly big squad at his disposal and keeping the winger is certainly beneficial. The Toffees have brought in a number of young players this summer and all of them can certainly learn much more training alongside the former England international on a daily basis. It will also give the player himself a chance to prove that he can still deliver the goods at the top level.
In other Everton transfer news, the Toffees are reportedly in talks to sign this Arsenal player.
