Everton are one of three clubs interested in signing Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton, according to a report.
The Sun claim that the Toffees want to sign the 30-year-old shot stopper, but face competition from league rivals Manchester City and Liverpool for his signature.
It is understood that Burnley would be more inclined to listen to bids in the summer for their star player as he still has three-and-a-half years left on his contract.
The report details that the Clarets would expect bids for their goalkeeper to start at no less than £15million after his impressive performances this season.
The Sun claim that Everton manager Ronald Koeman has been monitoring Heaton after being concerned by his current options Joel Robles and Maarten Stekelenburg.
Heaton has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this season and the standout player at Turf Moor.
The Burnley number one has has helped the club open up a 10-point cushion above the relegation places, despite being one of the favourites to face the drop at the beginning of the season.
He has kept five clean sheets in 20 appearances this season and has saved his side on numerous occasions.
Football Insider verdict:
Everton should seriously consider a move for Heaton in the summer as their current options have failed to impress this season. Ronald Koeman has switched between Stekelenburg and Robles this campaign, with neither goalkeeper able to cement their position. The Toffees are looking to build a squad that can compete at the top-end of the table and a goalkeeper is certainly a position they must strengthen to do so. Heaton has proved to be one of the best performing goalkeepers in the Premier League this season and has also be recognised by England’s national side. The 30-year-old has a good level of experience, but is also showing he is currently at the peak of his career.
