Italian giants make approach for Aston Villa midfielder - report

Fiorentina have joined the race to sign Aston Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez, according to a report.
Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed on his website that Fiorentina manager Paulo Sousa is keen to add a defensive midfielder to his squad, with Sanchez one of his targets.
It is said that an approach has been made by the Italian giants to set up the signing of the 30-year-old, who moved to Villa for £5 million in 2014 from La Liga side Elche.
Sanchez has also been a transfer target for French side Marseille in recent weeks, but moment a deal has failed to materialise.
It is said that former QPR boss Sousa Fiorentina need to add a midfielder to protect the defence and have set their sights on the Colombia international.
