Report: Leeds defender set for move next week, Midlands club lead race
By Harvey Byrne
Young Leeds defender Tyler Denton is set for a loan move “next week” with League Two outfit Port Vale leading the race for his signing, according to a report.
The Yorkshire Evening Post has claimed on their website that the 21-year-old left-back will be heading away from Elland Road temporarily on the day where it was announced via the official Leeds website and Twitter account that he had signed a new three-year deal at the club.

Denton has so far struggled for game time at Leeds and last season he was restricted to just thee cup appearances with both Charlie Taylor and Gaetano Berardi ahead of him in the left-back pecking order.
Taylor has since left, but the club are now reportedly looking for a new left-back, meaning they see Denton’s next best step as a loan away from the club.
Midlands-based side Port Vale are currently managed by ex-Leeds midfielder Michael Brown and he will lead his side at Elland Road next Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.
Football Insider verdict:
Given his age and playing time Denton simply has to move out on loan from Leeds this summer, or he’ll never make it at the club. Usually youngsters with high potential are fully within the first team at the age of 21, but that simply hasn’t happened for Denton. The left-back wasn’t helped with having the highly talented Taylor ahead of him in recent years. But, the fact that he is still not an option in the squad doesn’t bode well for his Elland Road future and this loan could be a way to put himself in the shop window.
