Report: Messi wants Tottenham ace at Barcelona (not Kane)
By Laura O’Leary
Lionel Messi has made it known that he wants Tottenham’s Dele Alli to join him at Barcelona according to a report.
Don Balon report that Messi has identified the Spurs midfielder as a long term replacement for Ivan Rakitic as they are similar players.
The same report, however, does go on to acknowledge that Alli is not the priority for the Spanish giants at the moment with Philippe Coutinho and Antoine Griezmann still their main transfer targets.
The England international has featured 13 times for Tottenham across all competitions this season; in those 13 games the attacking midfielder has scored seven goals and registered one assist.
The 21-year-old has only played one Champions League game this season, the 3-1 victory over Real Madrid, after a suspension made him ineligible for the first three games.

Alli was also ever present in the Premier League for Spurs until their last game against Crystal Palace when a hamstring injury ruled him out.
The injury saw Alli miss out on making Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the friendlies against Germany and Brazil.
However, Mauricio Pochettino believes the midfielder will be fit for Tottenham’s first game after the international break against Arsenal on November 18.
Football Insider Verdict
An opportunity to play at one of Europe’s biggest club alongside arguably the best player in the world would be a dream scenario for Alli. The midfielder could easily fit into the way Barcelona play and grow even further as a player, not just benefiting himself but also his nation. However, it does seem to be an unlikely move at this time as even this report states Barcelona have several transfer targets ahead of him. If it ever did materialise it would be another great player at Barcelona and a huge loss to Tottenham. The loss of Alli would be a hard one to recover from, as there is not many players at his level at his young age.
