Tottenham, along with a host of other Premier League clubs, had scouts watch MK Dons striker Dylan Asonganyi in his last game, according to a report.

The Daily Mirror claims that both Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester, along with Tottenham, had their scouts watching Asonganyi play Barnet on Tuesday night.

The forward would have had impressed them as he scored twice in the Dons’ 3-1 win over Barnet in the FA Youth Cup, and it is said that the League One club is expecting January bids for the player.

The U-18 star has been prolific this season, scoring 20 goals in 17 games across both U-18s and U-23s level.

MK Dons are reported to be so impressed by the young forward, that he may be fast-tracked to the first team.

Spurs already have a history of securing talent from the Dons, having purchased Dele Alli from them in July 2015.

Alli made the move from Milton Keynes and has excelled at Tottenham, making 109 appearances and scoring 39 goals for the side.

Football Insider Verdict

Tottenham can have no doubts about MK Dons’ ability to produce excellent young talent, with Alli currently one of the best players at the club. Spurs have a good understanding with MK Dons, having loaned Alli straight back to them in order to help their promotion cause, as well as continue to aid the midfielder’s development. This could put them in the driving seat ahead of other teams for Asonganyi’s signature. Spurs may opt to agree to a deal for the player sooner rather than later because if he impresses for MK Dons’ first team, he will attract the attention of even more clubs. Asonganyi would be wise to pick Tottenham ahead of the other teams scouting him, because he has Alli as an example of how well the move could go.
