Tottenham could be offered the services of winger Marco Asensio by Real Madrid in the summer transfer window as makeweight for Harry Kane, according to a report.
Don Balon report that the Real Madrid president Florentino Perez may offer the services of the Spanish international in order to bring in a world class player.
It is reported that Manchester United’s David De Gea is his first choice, as the Spanish giants look to sure up defensive inconsistencies.
However, a swap deal for Harry Kane has also been reported, as Madrid look for a natural successor to Karim Benzema, whose time at the Bernabéu is all but done.
It is reported that Perez is reluctant to lose Asensio however, who is widely regarded as one of the the World’s most exciting attacking prospects, and therefore would only allow him to leave should a suitable player replace him.
Football Insider verdict:
It is unlikely that Asensio would fetch the same price as would Harry Kane during this inflated transfer economy, so any deal is likely to be player plus cash. Asensio has showed signs that he is well underway to becoming one of the world’s greats, but could move to test his hand with more regular game time. Harry Kane on the other hand is a proven goal scorer, twice winning the Premier League’s coveted ‘Golden Boot’ award. The England International is the perfect replacement for Benzema, as their styles of play draw some heavy similarities. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has a habit of nourishing young players, such as Dele Alli, so the matchup with Asensio could be devastating for other teams.
