Rangers star Ross McCrorie could be forced to miss the rest of the season after the foot injury which has kept him out since December failed to respond to treatment, according to a report.
According to the reliable Four Lads Had a Dream Rangers blog, the 19-year-old could face surgery to repair the problem.
McCrorie burst into the first-team in September and made himself a key part of the side before injury forced him out of action.
Gers fans are understandably devastated to see the homegrown star’s season ended with this reported shattering blow, after a series of fantastic performances in both midfield and defence.
The Scottish youth international is the most prominent recent graduate from the club’s Academy as the Light Blues put a great emphasis on producing top quality homegrown talent.
A number of other Auchenowie youngsters have stepped into the first-team on recent months with Myles Beerman, Jamie Barjonas, Aidan Willson and Kyle Bradley all handed first-team debuts.
David Bates has also stepped up from the Gers’ Under-20’s side to make himself a first-team regular with the 21-year-old a fixture in the starting XI in 2018 so far.
