Tottenham must beat Liverpool and Chelsea to the signature of Werder Bremen attacker Max Kruse if they are to push themselves towards Premier League glory.

German newspaper Bild claim both Liverpool and Chelsea are keen on the 29-year-old star, who has been in sensational form for the Bundesliga club.

It is said that a fee of around £16million will be enough to prise the Germany international away from his home country and chance his arm in the Premier League.

Spurs are yet to complete a summer signing under manager Mauricio Pochettino but are expected to add to their squad as they look to go one better and lift the Premier League trophy.
